Severine Simone

I am performance artist based in London and the UK and am currently exploring stage,  film and immersive platforms as an actor, dancer and performer. I enjoy working with movement, text and multi disciplinary art forms, devising theatre and collaborating with others.

I was born and grew up in South Africa, Cape Town. I spent most of my childhood and adolescence training at the Cape Academy of Performing Arts in classical ballet, contemporary, tap and modern dance.  After graduation, I enrolled in acting for film courses at ACT Cape Town.

Alongside performing I am a facilitator and mentor in dance, drama and theatre devising skills- working with individuals in  vulnerable and challenging environments.

I am the co-founder and director of keeptheactalive, which is located in Cape Town. Together with Raine Waring, we provide opportunities in performance training and arts education to those deriving from various backgrounds through an inclusive environment.

In the UK I work with individuals through an arts based practise in care homes and those with SEN,including mainstream educational environments.
