EXODUS
DANE HURST
Dancer and choreographer Dane Hurst, a graduate of Rambert School and Central School of Ballet, returns to Dulwich Picture Gallery following two sell-out shows last year with Exodus, a new commission inspired by Winifred Knights’ The Deluge.
Capturing the experiences of the characters depicted in The Deluge and reflecting Knights’ meticulous working method, Exodus traces the movement and narratives of groups captured within The Deluge through individual vignettes to be discovered by the audience throughout the Gallery spaces. The piece culminates in an apocalyptic climax running down the Gallery’s central enfilade.- LCDS

'Beyond the Artifice, Lies your True Self'
Unskin is a provocative short film by Elcid Asaei. The project fuses contemporary dance with narrative film, in a mythology-inspired story that explores the dehumanising effect of a material world on social, race, and gender identity, in increasingly divisive times. The story will explore and deconstruct these stereotype facades through the medium of the moving image and dance.

Severine is cast as the role of an alien mortal - 'hipster female'.
In a materialistic world of artificial identities, a storyteller unleashes a mysterious God-like being who abducts alienated mortals and leads them through dance to shed their artificial masks and embrace each others' common humanity.
